We found that, although it’s not a perfect solution, it’s the best answer that you’ll find for Safari’s lackadaisical Favicon support. It’s not as clean as Chrome’s built in solution, but if the lack of favicons is one of few things keeping you from using Safari, it’s a good solution. Apple designed the Safari Technology Preview. Released today, Faviconographer is a hack, of course, but one that does a great job of serving the single purpose of adding those icons to your tabs.

We previously covered Faviconographer in a hands-on video walkthrough. Apple today released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser Apple first introduced over two years ago in March of 2016. Plus a few more minor tweaks and copy fixes. Minor Improvement: Slightly improved performance and reduced CPU/power usage (even though those should already have been fine before).Bugfix: Fixed the “Check for Updates” button.Bugfix: Faviconographer should now work properly with Russian versions of Safari.Let us know if you still encounter wrong Favicons from time to time.
